The Director Corporate Applications will have overall responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of information technology systems supporting the corporate functions of the utility including: Financials, Risk and Compliance Management, Procurement, Legal and Contracting, Business Analytics, and Human Resources.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience with:

    • Corporate business functions and processes

    • Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications marketplace as it relates to corporate business functions and processes

    • Regulatory compliance issues management

    • Application development projects and ongoing maintenance

  • Detail understanding of SDLC concepts, including Waterfall and Agile, and their appropriate use

  • Management level understanding of Microsoft technologies including Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and .Net development environment

  • Proven IT leadership and staff development skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Solid oral and written communication skills, including hands-on ability with MS Office products

  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with aggressive project timeframes

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to conduct research into emerging industry technologies and trends, standards, and products then build road maps and make recommendations

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Proven ability to effectively partner with leading technology and professional services firms

  • Application development and management talent that can successfully implement, champion and oversee the completion of multiple projects

  • Application maintenance and management talent that can successfully operate and maintain corporate applications with a mix of internal and external resources

  • Experience with utility industry functions and processes

Responsibilities

  • 12+ years’ relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of:

    • company’s strategic business plans

    • company’s existing corporate application portfolio and technology standards

    • current and emerging technologies as they relate to the utility industry

  • Provide a leadership role in planning the use of information technology to support the company’s business goals

  • Oversee and manage corporate application budgets including costs for personnel, hardware, software, and services

  • Provide leadership to corporate application IT teams, creating a dedicated service-oriented organization

  • Develop, implement, and maintain  ITIL and PMI processes as they apply to the Corporate Application organization

  • Continually improve the Corporate Application organization’s effectiveness and efficiency

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all areas of the organization personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced

  • Stay abreast of legislation and regulation as it applies to industry, and ensure the company’s compliance to those standards as they relate to the corporate application portfolio
