The ideal EDI Developer will have significant experience developing and maintaining high-quality transaction management solutions across the company’s divisions. The EDI Developer’s primary role is to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement integrated transaction management projects and ensure all electronic transactions supporting integrated business processes complete successfully.


  • Design, develop and maintain EDI mapping solutions within multiple applications

  • Prepare and manage project backlog, active project plans, project issues and risks and issue remediation

  • Comfortable managing and prioritizing multiple open projects simultaneously

  • This role implements and maintains electronic commerce solutions supporting business to business technologies, communications with EDI Value Added Networks (VANs), direct connections to trading partners and data translation using ANSI X12 and other format types including cXML

  • Ensure high quality end-products by developing detailed test plans for each project with internal/external customer validation and acceptance included

  • Partner directly and extensively with internal end-users and external customers and vendors to ensure successful implementations and solutions

  • Develop scripts, programs and interfaces to integrate EDI automatically across databases

  • Monitor all EDI and related processes daily to ensure successful execution

  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve EDI transmission and related issues and conduct root cause analysis to generate process improvement recommendations

  • Maintain related software updates, support and training documentation and train applicable stakeholders

  • Support strategic roadmap development in the areas of EDI, Punchout, Web Shop, B2B and other transaction management solutions


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field and or 4-6 years equivalent work experience

  • Experience with developing and implementing X12 EDI distribution documents

  • Demonstrable experience working on projects with both internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels

  • Data and process flow modeling and documentation experience

  • Linux and Windows Operating System knowledge, Client/Server environment, communications protocols

  • Database queries (SQL)

  • Experience with FTP, AS2 and VAN

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a self-directed manner

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly, business-friendly and technical language
