Job Description
This is an opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement server and storage solutions, ensure network and infrastructure security, and optimize system performance. The position will also be responsible for infrastructure automation, designing and developing scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop robust configuration management processes and tools to automate the deployment and management of infrastructure systems.
- Implement automation tools and processes to streamline the deployment, maintenance, and management of the infrastructure.
- Design and implement on-premises infrastructure solutions that are scalable, resilient, and secure.
- Proactively monitor the infrastructure's health and performance and optimize it to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Implement and maintain security controls to protect the organization's infrastructure, data, and applications.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure the infrastructure meets the organization's needs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Azure IaaS, Azure AD, and M365.
- Provide assistance for these systems across the company during both regular business hours and outside of them as needed.
- Develop and implement server configuration baselines and ensure that changes are monitored and managed.
- Provide technical expertise for responsibility areas and training for other team members.
- Plan for organizational and human impacts of systems and ensure continuity of operations.
- Develop, document, and revise environment or solution operations procedures, tests, and policies.
- Participate in the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental performance, capacity, and availability management.
- Test and certify new versions of Windows operating systems providing better solutions and integration for applications like VMware.
- Effectively manage associated Projects/Incidents/Problems/Changes including large scale datacenter hardware and software upgrade projects.
Required Education/Experience:
- Datacenter infrastructure experience overall
- Microsoft server stack - Server, Exchange, Azure, Domain, etc.
- Experience in technology consulting, enterprise, and solutions architecture.
- Ability to develop PowerShell scripts and server automation processes.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and proactively research/propose/develop the solutions.
- Experience working on large scale IT projects related to design, deployment, and configuration.
- Proven track record of delivering solutions within defined timeframes.
- Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Skilled in identifying key or important elements of the assignment, anticipating potential problems and taking steps to avoid them.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to initiate, plan, execute and close phases of projects as required.
- Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm environment preferred.
