You will be part of a team that monitors data communications networks and ensures network is available to all system users. You will work toward resolving data communication problems within established service levels and defined procedures.
Diagnosis network system failures and performs minor repairs and adjustments on routine issues Perform triage and troubleshooting of data network technologies
Provide technical guidance to lower level staff in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving network performance problems
Install network hardware, software, and peripheral components according to design and installation specifications and ensure operability
Tactical in nature and work is typically of moderate to complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role
Continue to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time
Draw on experts and managers when needed but not frequently
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes and security configurations
Bachelors’ degree and industry specific experience
Solid knowledge of Network firewalls (Cisco ASA, NGFW, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint), Network switching (Cisco, Juniper), Load Balancing (F5), Optical Networking (Cisco, GE, Fujitsu), Internet Proxy (Cisco WSA), Voice Networking (Cisco, Oracle),Wireless Networking (Cisco, Enterasys)
Demonstrate experience managing, configuring and installing network infrastructure
Deep understanding of networking protocols
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
