We are currently seeking a qualified Software Engineering Manager (Advanced Robotics)  to join our client’s organization and contribute to their ongoing success. The ideal candidate will have expertise in leading and managing a team of software engineers to develop and maintain the software that powers our advanced robotic solutions.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers to develop, test, and maintain the software that powers our advanced robotic solutions.
  • Collaborate with our autonomy, perception, and hardware engineering teams to ensure that our software is fully integrated and optimized for performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our software development processes and practices, and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Be aware of all project software requirements and support, and provide effort estimates to the project managers.
  • Provide prioritization requests to the software team and help identify requirements for each project, including determining priorities when there are competing needs (internal, customer, contract, etc.).
  • Assist with hiring new software engineers to build a high-performing team.
  • Ensure that the other teams understand the ramifications of chnges and potential impacts on software efforts and timelines.
  • Maintain knowledge about software versions and effort required to upgrade from one version to the next.

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing software for modern robotic systems or other similar fields.
  • Strong technical skills in software development, including experience with C++.
  • Experience with software development processes methodologies, continuous integration and deployment, and software testing.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve their best work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with modern robotic systems and their integration with manufacturing and industrial processes is preferred.
