You will be responsible for the management and oversight of the desktop computing environment which is a blend of PC and Mac computers. Your primary focus will be to build a standardized platform for each technology, remediate current differences in the environment, and build new processes to deploy and maintain a high level of standardization and simplification.


  • Define and implement processes for managing a standardized desktop environment

  • Maintain desktop application, patch, and other client deployments by packaging, scripting and deploying applications across enterprise workstation desktop environments using automation tools, i.e. SCCM, SMS, Marimba, Filewave, Altiris, scripting and other enterprise specific tools

  • Develop and integrate builds by deploying a hardware agnostic desktop management solution and providing an environment that ensures currently deployed machines can be remotely brought up to new corporate standards in an automated fashion

  • Gather requirements and implements systems that simplify management and improve the user experience

  • Package applications and creates user profile packages for various use cases

  • Document resolutions and analyzes trends in order to be proactive in problem solving

  • Establish and maintain automated computer inventory and tracking utilizing desktop management tools

  • Act as an escalation point for the Desktop Operations Team


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field

  • Progressive desktop engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required

  • Strong experience with building processes around desktop deployment

  • Experience with patch management and development of application deployment packages to include scripting, application re-packaging, and automated deployment/remediation

  • Experience with enterprise automated deployment tools, e.g. SCCM, Marimba, SMS, Filewave, Altiris

  • An excellent knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 and Microsoft Applications; and an in-depth ability and understanding of Windows 7 & Windows 10 registry, services, drivers, file systems, etc is required

  • Experience with Macintosh in the enterprise for any of the above requirements is a strong plus

  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
