Telecommunications Analyst

For this role, the ideal candidate will be technology oriented, familiar with wireless devices and have a strong interest in telephony and data com services. You will focus on position installs, programs and maintain hardware and software for a variety of telecommunications systems, including audio, radio, microwave and video systems; researches and evaluates available and emerging technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and troubleshoot reported problems with phone lines, circuits and mobile devices

  • Configure and help deploy iOS and MS-Windows mobile devices

  • Assist with reconciling and processing provider/vendor invoices

  • Program, analyze and resolve problems related to telecommunications systems' software and hardware

  • Install and test telecommunication components, including analog circuits, T1 lines, transmission lines, and circuit packs; operates and maintains data test equipment, analyzes telecommunications system data, and makes corrections to the system as needed

  • Research and evaluate the capabilities and costs of new and available technologies, and makes recommendations to the telecommunications and energy systems manager regarding improvements, purchases and cost-saving measures

  • Meet with managers and service users to assess current systems, determine telecommunication needs, explain the costs and benefits of available options, prepare preliminary design proposals systems to meet agency needs, and coordinate installation with vendors

  • Provide ongoing technical and operational assistance for all telecommunications systems

  • Administer call accounting systems by maintaining databases, producing reports of calls, invoicing users, tracking calls as requested and resolving problems

  • Coordinates moves, adds and changes of telecommunication equipment by: obtaining written estimates and authorizations, implementing software changes, contacting vendors to schedule service or purchase equipment, invoicing users for services, and maintaining an inventory of devices and their locations within the network

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Working knowledge of, and proficiency with, with MS-Office

  • Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers, users, and vendors including effective collaborative problem solving, responsive communications and cordial interpersonal relationships
